The president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed that the federation will set up an endowment fund for former players in the coming year.
There have been clarion on the FA and the sports Ministry to set up funds for struggling former footballers and the FA by virtue of this move have heeded to the call by Ghanaian football lovers.
Speaking at the FA’s extraordinary congress, held before the commencement of every league season, Kwesi Nyantakyi apprised that “We will be launching our football endowment fund next year. The fund is intended to raise funds to support struggling former players”
The statement by the FA comes as a refreshing news to most of the former footballers who have been struggling financially. They will be hoping that the FA’s initiative will alleviate them of the financial burden that have bedeviled them
