Communications director of the Ghana Football Association Ibrahim Sannie Daara has poked fun at outgoing sports minister Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye for his NDC Party’s defeat in the 2016 polls saying ”God has spoken, God has spoken”.
Speaking on Kumasi based Abusua FM, the former BBC, sports journalist remained hopeful his outfit will now enjoy peace since controversial sports Nii Lante’s reign expires after January 7 when President-Elect Akufo Addo is officially sworn in as president of the republic of Ghana.
He adds Mr. Nii Lante’s ten months in office as sports minister had no positive contribution to the development of sports in the country, adding that his presence at the sports ministry was a devastating and unsatisfactory ambition championed to worsen the performance of the sporting disciplines in the country especially the Black Stars team.
According to Sannie Daara, Nii Lante had an agenda to embarrass the nation’s football governing body, GFA an agenda he believes could not be achieved by the former GBC journalist hence his shambolic failure.
‘’The talkings were too much and needless for Nii Lante as a minister but ’ God has spoken’’ God has spoken’’ and now that he’s leaving office I expect him to correct all the wrongs and the animosity he triggered between the Ghana Football Association and the Sports ministry and solely concentrate on his Parliamentary job since he will not be sports minister again after January 7’’ said the GFA spokesperson.
He added’’ This a man who reported so many lies about the federation’s President Kwesi Nyantakyi and as well stepped on some highly respected personalities toes in the country all in the name of his fruitless agenda Sannie added.
