The president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku has announced plans to invest in the promotion of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) by encouraging clubs to establish youth teams.

As part of this initiative, each GPL club will receive GH¢50,000 as support for setting up their youth teams.

Furthermore, the GFA according to Kurt Okraku will provide additional incentives to clubs that actively involve their youth team players in the GPL. If a club features two youth team players in at least 15 games, they will receive an additional GH¢25,000. This incentivizes clubs to nurture and give opportunities to young talents within their ranks.

In a bid to bolster grassroots football development, the GFA is committing $100,000 to Colts football. This financial support according to Kurt Okraku will be used to purchase football equipment for young players, providing them with the necessary resources to develop their skills and passion for the sport.

These initiatives reflect the GFA’s dedication to investing in youth development and creating a sustainable pathway for young players to progress in Ghanaian football. By encouraging clubs to establish youth teams and actively promote the participation of young players in the GPL, the GFA aims to cultivate a vibrant and competitive football landscape in the country.

“GFA to invest in promotion of GPL, Each GPL sides to get GHc50,000 cedis as support for setting up youth team. Team to get GHc25,000 cedis if they feature two youth team players in not less than 15 games. We will invest 100,000$ dollars into Colts football. This money will serve as a means of buying football for our kids,” Ku

The financial support and investment in Colts football demonstrate the GFA’s commitment to nurturing and harnessing the potential of young talents. By providing clubs with the resources needed to establish and sustain youth teams, and by equipping young players with the necessary tools to excel, the GFA is paving the way for the future success of Ghanaian football.
