recorded a 2-0 victory over World Cup-bound Japan in Yokohama on Wednesday morning in an international friendly.
Stand-in captain Thomas Teye Partey and debutant Emmanuel Boateng scored in each half of the game to ensure the Black Stars pipped Japan who will be playing at the Russia 2018 World Cup which commences on June 14.
Thomas Partey shot Ghana in front in the 8th minute following a brilliant start to the game before Emmanuel Boateng who was donning the Black Stars jersey for the very first time doubled the Black Stars lead from the spot in the 51st minute.
Striker Raphael Dwamena,winger Edwin Gyasi, defender Kasim Adams newbie Kwasi Okyere all started the game from bench as Nana Amponmah, Issac Sackey and Atamah Laweh were handed a starting role by coach Kwasi Appiah.
This victory mean that, the Black Stars have beaten Japan for the second time having won just one out five previous matches.
The Black Stars will play Iceland in their next friendly game next week Thursday.
Japan however, continue their tournament preparation with friendlies against Switzerland and Paraguay ahead of their opening Group H match with Colombia on 19 June. Senegal and Poland are the other two teams in Group H.
