Ghana Black Stars coach Charles Akonnor could have a headache in the next couple of days as two of the four invited central defenders for the AFCON qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome may not be available.
Budding talent Stephan Kofi Ambrosius of Bundesliga 2 side Hamburger SV has also been invited by German Under 21 coach Stefan Kuntz for their impending games against Hungary, Netherlands and Romania.
Ambrosius has just four days to make a choice between Ghana and Germany as the Germans play Hungary on Wednesday, March 24.
On the other hand, all French Ligue clubs have passed a law through the countries FA that none of their teams in the first and second-tier will be allowed to release any player to any African country for the AFCON qualifiers due to the upsurge of Coronavirus on the continent.
With this development, Ghana might not have the Amiens pair of central defender Nicholas Opoku as well as midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey for the impending games.
