Ghana’s head coach, Otto Addo, is gearing up for a challenging match against the Central African Republic next week. On Thursday night, Addo led the Black Stars to a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Eagles of Mali.
In a post-match interview, Coach Addo acknowledged the difficulty of the game against Mali. “In the first 20 minutes, we struggled, but in the second half, we were better. Fatawu did great with his pressing late in the game. I think we did great in the conditions here,” he noted.
Addo attributed the team’s success to effective substitutions. “I think we had a good fighting spirit, but the game was 50-50. It was even, and at the end, our substitutes made the difference,” he added.
Looking ahead, Coach Addo anticipates an even tougher contest against the Central African Republic. “The game against Central African Republic will now be even more difficult because we will now be expected to win,” he remarked.
Ghana is set to face the Central African Republic on Monday, June 10, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
