Ghanaian defender Phil Ofosu-Ayeh, has joined German third-tier side FC Hansa Rostock on a season-long loan deal from English side Wolverhampton Wanderers on the summer transfer deadline day.
The once-capped Black Stars defender has previously featured for FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt, where he made his professional debut in 2011 as a 19-year-old, the MSV Duisburg, the VfR Aalen and Eintracht Braunschweig.
Ayeh, was deemed surplus to requirement after struggling to break into the team since joining from German side Eintracht Braunschweig.
He however, manage five caps for Wolverhampton Wanderers U-23 side toward the end of last season as he fought back from injury.
“With Phil Ofosu-Ayeh, whom I know from my time at VfR Aalen, we have been able to win a running and strong fighting full-back, which is characterized by its speed and dynamism. In addition to his defensive qualities, as a trained striker he is also in a position to get involved in the game, “said Hansa Rostock FC sports director Markus Thiele.
“I’m happy to be able to play for an association like Hansa Rostock with its tradition, its great conditions and its many fans. Hansa gives me the opportunity to regain more match practice and of course I want to give it back by giving gas and helping the team as well as possible,’’ Phil Ofosu-Ayeh said.
He is expected to join Hansa team in training next week Tuesday
