Former Black Stars player Godwin Attram has revealed that his love for Ghana ruined his PSV Eidhoven career after he decided to feature for the black satellites in the 99 Africa Under 20 Championship in Ghana.
Attrram had signed for the Dutch eredivsi side as a teenager from Accra Great Olympics and was due to feature for the senior side but had to wait for his work permit as an adult in Holland.
He joined his colleagues to prepare for the tournament instead of waiting to get his work permit a development he says cost him greatly at PSV Eindhoven. Speaking on Untold Stories on Starr FM , the former Great Olympics player insists PSV Eindhoven had plans of grooming him to replace Ronaldo Narazio Da Lima.
“I had a juicy contract with PSV Eindhoven, two years with the youth side, graduated to the senior side and also signed a five year deal but I needed to wait in Holland for them to finalized my work permit because I was an adult”
“I was also called to lead the black Satellites to help in the Africa under championship so we get qualification to the world championship so I was torn between my country and my club ’’
“I chose to serve my nation and that cost me big time because there was a well cut out plan for me to become the next Ronaldo Da Lima” he added .
