Maritzburg United have confirmed the signing of Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori on a three-year-deal, with the option of another.
The club had opted against retaining Vries, leaving a huge hole in the last line of defence a gap that will now be filled by Ofori.
The 23-year-old shot-stopper joins the club from Wa All Stars in the Ghanaian Premier League, having previously attracted reported interest from Mamelodi Sundowns.
“MUFC confirm the signing of Ghanaian goalkeeper on a three-year contract with a further option,” United said in an official statement on Thursday.
Ofori will add international experience to the Team of Choice having represented his country at junior and senior level. He was part of Ghana’s 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup squad and notably formed part of the Black Stars team that participated at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
