The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has selected Ghana to host the 2018 Women’s AFCON.
Ghana was granted permission to host the competition for the first time after emerging as the only country to bid for the tournament.
The country has never hosted the Women’s competition since its commencement in 1998.
Ghana, one of the powerhouses in Women’s Football have competed in 11 out of the 12 editions of the competition so far only missing out in 2012 in Equatorial Guinea.
Cameroon will host this year’s edition of the competition which begins on November 19 to December 3.
The 2018 AFCON will also serve as qualifier to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
