Ghana Premier League side Kumasi Asante Kotoko have named stalwart defender Abdul Ismail Ganiyu as the new captain for the club, Sportsworldghana.com can confirm.
The Ghanaian international centre-back succeeds former Black Stars third choice goalie, Felix Annan, who left the club this summer due to lack of playing time.
The 25-year-old is now the new substantive captain for the Porcupine Warriors going into the new season in Ghana which starts on October 29.
Midfielder Mudasiru Salifu has been named as the assistant captain for the club while goalkeeper Razak Abalora is picked as the second deputy captain.
After the departure of all three captains of Kotoko last month, the position became vacant and Ganiyu was deemed fit for the leadership role at the club.
