Ghana International Majeed Ashimeru has expressed excitement after scoring his maiden goal of the season for RSC Anderlecht against Beerschot in the Belgian top-flight.
The 24-year-old climbed off the bench to register his first goal of the season as his side clinched all three points at the Lotto Park on Sunday.
Anderlecht snatched a 2-0 by the 54th minute when Sergio Gómez converted a spot-kick before the halftime whistle and an own goal from Lawrence Shankland.
However, Shankland reduced the deficit in the 56th minute before Ivorian Christian Kouamé restored Anderlecht’s two-goal lead in the 69th minute.
Ashimeru, who had replaced Kristoffer Olsson in the 75th minute did not take long to find the back of the net to make it 4-1.
Joren Dom scored in the 81st minute for the visitors but his goal was enough to stage a comeback as Anderlecht held on to win 4-2
Ashimeru has made 12 appearances and scored one goal for Anderlecht so far this campaign.
