Ghana international, Richard Ofori has confirmed his return to full fitness after a long term injury, which kept him out for quite some time.
The shot-stopper suffered a groin injury during Orlando Pirates’ CAF Confederation Cup group A match against ES Sétif of Algeria.
The injury ruled him out of the closing stages of the 2020/21 campaign while also missing Ghana’s friendly games earlier this summer against Morocco and Ivory Coast.
However, the 27-year-old says he is delighted after finally returning to the pitch once again after the long time out.
He wrote on his Instagram page: “I hope this finds everyone in good spirit and health…. It’s been a challenging and difficult time for the entire world. We’ve been through the pandemic and other life challenges. I personally went through a trying time. A time that needed courage, faith and patience. Being out of play due to an injury is something that I had never anticipated. But as the saying goes, “we plan but God decides” this was surely one of his timings… crossing this path in my career helped me reflect to appreciating the world and life in general.
Let me please take this opportunity to give a special thanks to my team for a remarkable environment that they gave me to facilitate my recovery, my family and friends that have been there through thick and thin, my lord God above all who’s been in my corner from day one and finally to the fans that have always kept me in their prayers.. Without you all I couldn’t have made it this far… All I can say is thank you and may the almighty lord bless you all… IT FEELS GREAT TO BE BACK💪🏾🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽…#Focus Vision
Ofori’s return from injury is a big boost for Pirates as well as Ghana in the next few months.”
