Bofoakwa Tano celebrated a big win at their home stadium, the Sunyani Coronation Park, against Karela United in the Ghana Premier League.
They secured a 2-1 victory on Sunday, thanks to goals from Sammy Osae Akoto and Saaka Dauda.
Before this game, Bofoakwa Tano had lost their previous match against Bibiani Goldstars. But they bounced back strongly in front of their home fans.
Sammy Osae Akoto scored the first goal for Bofoakwa Tano after 35 minutes of play, giving them the lead as they headed into halftime.
In the second half, Karela United fought back and managed to equalize through Mohammed Asigre in the 65th minute.
But Bofoakwa Tano’s captain, Saaka Dauda, came to the rescue, scoring the winning goal in the 72nd minute to secure all three points for his team.
Despite the victory, Bofoakwa Tano is still struggling in the league and finds themselves in the relegation zone, sitting in 16th place with 26 points, just one point behind Karela United.
Karela United, on the other hand, is slightly better off, sitting in 15th place with 27 points, one spot above the relegation zone.
The win was crucial for Bofoakwa Tano as they continue their fight to avoid relegation, while Karela United will be disappointed to have lost but will look to bounce back in their next match.
