Dreams FC defeated new boys Nations FC 1-0 at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu to begin the 2023/24 betPawa Premier League on a flying note.

The home side scored the only goal of the game in the 8th minute. Right-back Ebenezer Adade pounced on a loose ball at the edge of the box to fire the ball into the net.

Despite being on the losing end, Nations FC gave a good account of them selves, creating numerous chances but were kept at bay by a solid Dreams FC defense that was led by Goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi.

At the Akoon Community Park in Tarkwa, holders Medeama SC came from behind twice to draw 2-2 against Accra Lions.

Lions went ahead in the 19th minute through a fine Samuel Gyimah effort. Daniel Lomotey scored in the 56th minute to level the score for Medeama.

In the 80th minute, Ali Mohammed scored to make it 2-1 for Accra Lions. However, the lead lasted for only three minutes as Jonathan Sowah scored to make it 2-2 and still a point for his side.

In other results, Asante Kotoko were held to a scoreless draw by returnees Heart of Lions under the floodlights of the Baba Yara Stadium. The biggest talking point of the game came in the 65th minute when a legitimate goal from Heart of Lions’ Mustapha Yakubu was disallowed for offside.

Legon Cities came from a goal down to beat Karela United 2-1 at the El-Wak Stadium. Kharim Abdul Ayeh opened the scoring for Karela in the final minutes of the first half. Francis Antwi scored twice in the second half to turn the game around.

Berekum Chelsea scored two goals in the second half to beat Bibiani GoldStars 2-0 at the Golden City Park. Stephen Amankona scored the two goals in the second half.

Michael Ephson’s 39th minute goal earned Samartex 1996 a 1-0 win against last season’s runners up, Aduana FC at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samreboi.

Newboys boys Abdul Manaf Umar and Eric Osei Bonsu scored in either half to earn Nsoatreman a 2-0 win against Bechem United in Nsuatre.

Great Olympics and Bofoakwa Tano drew barren at the Accra Sports Stadium.

A 93rd minute Owusu Afriyie header from a corner-kick handed Real Tamale United a 1-0 win against Hearts of Oak in Tamale.
