The issue of player remuneration is huge one the local scene with players always being paid paltry sum of money for their overwhelming talents.

“I can’t promise anything for now. I hope to say at TP but if that do not happen ,I doubt making a return to Ghana. The Ghanaian league has seen no improvement since I left. It is not doing well and as a player you have a shot career spell so you always have to consider these things. Its better you ply your trade outside Ghana and earn something for your family and keep some for the future because when you retire you will depend on the savings you made during your playing career. Coming back to Ghana will not be the ideal situation for me and my family financially”. The words of former Kotoko midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei.
Nii Adjei’s view is not farfetched as most players in the GPL are not paid as they deserve. There has been instances where players have been unpaid for more than five months.
