Karela United welcomed Kumasi King Faisal FC to the Anyinase Cam Park for the week five clash in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts created some decent chances early in the game and should have made it count at least on one occasion when striker Richard Berko missed a close-range header on the third minute of the match.
Nonetheless, Karela United remained the better team on the afternoon but the visitors on one or two occasions got good openings but failed to make it counts.
Two minutes to half time, In-form striker Diawisue Taylor beautifully trapped a through ball in the box and outwitted his make to find the bottom left corner of the goal post to make sure the home team went into the break with their noses in front.
Soon after the goal, Karela United had a half a chance to make it 2-0 to but the attackers fluffed their lines as the first 45 minutes ended 1-0 to the home team.
After the recess, Taylor missed a penalty that was awarded Karela and failed to add to the hosts’ advantage.
Two minutes later after the penalty miss, former Kotoko and Medeama forward Kwame Boateng secured the points for the home team when he netted the second goal on the 78th-minute mark to send Karela back on top of the league table after five games with eleven points.
