Aduana FC showed great resilience to recover from a two-goal deficit and earn a 2-2 draw against Young Apostles in their Ghana Premier League Week 16 clash in Wenchi.
Young Apostles looked set for all three points late in the game after Richmond Opoku and Samuel Peprah found the net, giving the home side a comfortable advantage as the match approached its closing stages. However, Aduana mounted a strong late response, with Charles Camara and Sidibe scoring to rescue a valuable point.
The visitors began the match on the front foot and dominated the early exchanges. Experienced striker Bright Adjei went close to opening the scoring, while Remember Boateng tested the defence with a well-struck free kick soon after.
As Aduana’s early pressure faded, Young Apostles grew in confidence and created their first real opening through Opoku. Aduana responded midway through the first half when Mezack Afriyie forced a save from the home goalkeeper. Afriyie was later forced off just before halftime after a heavy collision and was replaced by Maxwell Hensen.
Deep into first-half stoppage time, Young Apostles were awarded a penalty, which Opoku calmly converted to give the hosts the lead at the break.
Both teams made changes after the interval, with Aduana introducing Charles Camara for Adjei. The substitute almost made an instant impact, delivering a teasing cross that narrowly missed producing an equaliser.
Despite Aduana’s efforts, Young Apostles extended their lead late on through Samuel Peprah. But the game turned dramatically in the closing moments as Camara pulled one back, before Sidibe struck late to complete the comeback and secure a deserved away point for Aduana FC.
