Legon Cities FC defeated WAFA SC by a lone goal in the Ghana Premier League week eight clash at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday evening.

The Royals who are yet to score from an open failed to erase that bad form though won the game with their goal coming from the spot.

The first half of the match ended in a goalless draw as both teams failed to make good use of few chances they got in the opening 45 minutes.

After the break, former Asante Kotoko SC wonder kid, Mathew Anim Cudjoe stepped up his gears as he tormented the visitors’ defense.

Anim Cudjoe was fouled in the box on the 48th minute of the match and the resulting penalty was converted by Joseph Adjei to give the home team the lead.

It ended 1-0 to Legon Cities who picked their first win of the season after eight games.
