Roland Leveh, Morifing Donzo and Rudolf Mensah were the key figures as Swedru All Blacks stunned Asante Kotoko with a 2-1 victory in Week 17 of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League at the Swedru Sports Stadium.
Leveh put the home side ahead in the 37th minute, finishing off a strong spell of pressure from Swedru All Blacks, who started the game with confidence and high energy. Kotoko replied through Guinean striker Donzo, who pulled his side level and briefly shifted the momentum.
However, just before the break, Mensah restored the lead for the hosts with a calm finish in added time of the first half, a goal that proved decisive and sent the home supporters into loud celebrations.
The match was played at a fast pace, with Swedru All Blacks slightly dominating the game. They enjoyed more of the ball and created the clearer chances, recording more shots on target than their visitors. Kotoko tried to fight back in the second half but could not find an equaliser.
Despite reports of minor disturbances involving supporters before kick-off, the contest itself was settled purely on the pitch.
The defeat leaves Asante Kotoko sitting third on the league table, four points behind the leaders, after missing a chance to close the gap. They are expected to regroup ahead of their next match against Berekum Chelsea.
For Swedru All Blacks, the win brings relief and renewed belief, easing pressure on their coach and possibly marking a turning point in their campaign.
