Medeama SC played host to Dormaa-based club Aduana Stars FC to the Tarkwa Akoon Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Yellow and Mauves started the game on a blistering pace and created some decent openings in the first quarter of the match against a resilient Green and Yellows side.

On the 16th minute of the match, Kwasi Donsu laid out a beautiful pass to the left side of the box to locate Abass Mohammed who cutback nicely to set up Agyemang Boateng inside the six-yard box to slot the ball into the bottom right corner to put the hosts 1-0 up.

Ten minutes later, Bright Adjei broke free in the goal area and managed to score the equalizer with a weak strike which found the back of the net on the 26th minute to level matters for the visitors before the interval.

In the second half, Medeama SC came up on top of the match and dominated their opponents and created a lot of good goal scoring opportunities but failed to capitalize on their chances.

Eighteen minutes to full, Rashid Nortey sent a defensive splitting pass to the right and Samuel Appiah sent in an inch-perfect cross which was nicely connected and put at the back of the net to make it 2-1 to the Yellow and Mauves.

After the second goal of the match, the game became a balanced one as Aduana Stars pushed for the equalizer to avoid their second defeat on the road this season.

The hosts who were winless in three games at home this season held onto the lead and recorded their first win of the season at home and their second win of the season after eight matches to move to ninth on the table with ten points.
