FC Samartex continued their fine home form with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Aduana Stars on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena. The win marks their sixth consecutive triumph at home and keeps them firmly in the top half of the Ghana Premier League table.
The Timber Giants made a bright start, opening the scoring just six minutes into the game to delight the home fans. However, their early lead was short-lived, as Aduana Stars fought back and found the equalizer in the 32nd minute through Kelvin Obeng, who capitalized on a defensive lapse to draw his side level.
The match remained tightly contested, with both teams creating chances but unable to find the breakthrough for most of the second half. Samartex, however, kept pushing and were eventually rewarded with a late goal that sealed all three points.
The victory lifts Christopher Ennin’s side to 6th place on the league table with 51 points, setting up an exciting final-day clash away to Accra Hearts of Oak. With momentum on their side, Samartex will look to end the season on a strong note.
Aduana Stars, meanwhile, drop to 10th with 44 points. They will host Basake Holy Stars in their final match of the season, hoping to close their campaign with a win after another frustrating away result.
