The Black Satellites were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Morocco on Friday during Day-2 of the ongoing CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania.
SPORTSWorldGhana.com presents the five major lessons picked from this game.
1.Ghana and Morocco are the strongest teams Group C
The two teams have proven to the best among the rest in Group C as they are both on four points after 2 round of matches. Gambia and Tanzania are next with a point each.
2.A silent day for Percious Boah
The two -goal hero was not at his best as he found limited opportunities to register another goal in the competition.
3.Ibrahim Danlad shines in goal
The Asante Kotoko goalkeeper made couple of key saves to make sure the Ghana goal is not breached by the North Africans. They managed to have two shots on target but with Danlad in goal, we were save.
4.Great defence wins you championships
Some coaches say great attack wins you a match but great defence wins you titles and championships and that is the case for Karim Zito’s team who have still not conceded a goal in this competition. 2 games, 4 goals scored and zero taken.
5.A draw against Gambia is enough to qualify Ghana but a defeat can be disastrous
The Ghanaian team is leading the table on 4 points whereas Gambia are on a single point but should the latter defeat the former , it is Gambia that will advance based on the fact that points in head -to-head matches is the fist point to considers in the tie breaking criteria of this competition. Therefore a draw will be enough to advance the Satellites.
