Black Stars Captain Andre Ayew has described as “unbelievable” the performance of his younger brother, Jordan Ayew in the 1-0 FIFA World Cup Qualifying win over South Africa on Sunday at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The Ayew brothers both played the entire duration of the game as Ghana defeated South Africa 1-0 to secure a place in the Play-off phase of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifier slated for March next year.
Andre scored the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute from the spot to send the Black Stars through to the next phase of the qualifiers.
However, Jordan Ayew whose performance caught the attention of many including his senior brother has been praised.
Speaking to the media after the match, Andre was full of praise for the Crystal Palace attacker.
“Jordan was unbelievable in the game,” Ayew said.
“Am I the only one who saw him to be Man of the Match? If we had two Jordans on the pitch, things would have been different.” Andre added.
Jordan Ayew is one of the most criticised Black Stars players recently.
The striker has found goals hard to come by in recent times for both club and country, leading to many questioning his selection into the Black Stars.
But with his all-round performance at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday night, perhaps his critics will begin to re-write their scripts about the younger Ayew.
