Ghana international, Daniel Amartey has joined Leicester City’s camp for pre-season training as the Premier League side gears up preparations for the start of the 2021/21 season.
The central defender had a difficult period last season having just returned from a serious injury. He was restricted to just 12 league appearances with eight of them being starts, scoring once and also playing two games in the English FA Cup as the Foxes clinched the title ahead of Chelsea.
Having fully recovered from his ankle injury, the player is set to play a vital role for Brendan Rodgers’ side in the upcoming season and has already joined the group for the pre-season training.
The 26-year-old made the switch to the King Power Stadium in January 2016, after two good years with Danish side Copenhagen.
Amartey will also hope his minutes at the club side will be convincing enough to earn him a place in the Black Stars squad for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers as well as next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
