English Premier League side Watford has handed Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Derek Emmanuel Adjei Agyakwa a one-year contract extension following his impressive display with the U23 team.
Agyakwa’s initial contract had an option to extend it and the club has done exactly so to help the youngster develop better at the club.
”Watford FC is pleased to confirm new contracts have been offered to several of the club’s Under-23 players,” the club announced.
”Defender Bayli Spencer-Adams (pictured above), who featured in the FA Cup ties with Tranmere this season, has been offered a new one-year deal.
”Striker Ryan Cassidy, 19, has been offered a new two-year deal, while 20-year-old winger Harry Forster (pictured below) has been offered a 12-month contract.
”One-year extensions have also been handed to goalkeeper Adam Parkes, defender Derek Agyakwa, midfielders Daniel Phillips and Henry Wise, and forward Joseph Hungbo,” added the statement.
Agyakwa, 18, is eligible to represent Ghana at the international level.
