Former Ghana U20 captain, Ishaku Konda was named Man-Of-The-Match in his team’s defeat in Poland against Slask Wroclaw by the fans of his team, Paide Linnameeskond.
The Ghanaian center-back was a pivot for the Estonia Meistriliiga side when they lost 2-0 away from home and exited the new UEFA Conference League on Thursday evening.
Konda, a Ghana Premier League winner with Wa All Stars now Legon Cities FC in 2016, played the full 90 minutes of football alongside former Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan at the heart of defense for Paide.
The hosts, Slask Wroclaw scored in both halves to secure a 2-0 win and 4-1 aggregate score after winning the first leg in Estonia by a 2-1 scoreline to eliminate Konda’s team from the competition.
After the game, the supporters of the Estonia team voted for the 21-year-old Ghanaian defender as the Most Valuable Player of the match.
Konda joined Paide Linnameeskond in March this year from Division One League side Asokwa Deportivo SC in Ghana and has already established himself as an important part of the team.
