Ghanaian defender Kennedy Boateng has reacted to SV Ried’s 2-2 stalemate with Austria Wien in the Austrian Bundesliga play-off on Tuesday night.
The Ghanaian lanky defender started and lasted the full 90 minutes of the game and helped SV Ried to pick a vital point the Generali Arena.
The visitors picked the lead after just two minutes into the game through Constantin Reiner but his strike was canceled by Manprit Sarkaria from the spot in the 22nd-minute mark of the game.
Boateng, 24, who has played 28 leagues this season for his side, got booked in the 35th minute following a hard tackle on his opponent’s player.
Ried kept pushing for an away victory and got a 2-1 lead in the 78th minute, thanks to Marco Gruell’s fine strike.
Marco Gruell’s goal, however, could not seal victory for his team after Marco Djuricin scored after 90+1 to draw the match for the home side.
Boateng and his teammates would be hoping to win their subsequent matches in the play-off to keep them in the Austrian Bundesliga next season.
”+1tonight on to the next #SameGod#” Boateng wrote on Facebook.
Ried will on Saturday 24, April, 2021 welcome St. Pölten to the Keine Sorgen Arena.
