Gyamfi, who permanently joined Hammarby from Ghanaian lower-tier side Rising Stars FC in 2023, showcased his talent after impressing during a one-year loan spell with the club’s youth team.
The 20-year-old defender had previously played with Hammarby’s U19 squad and their second team in the Ettan Norra (first division), where he made 27 appearances out of 30 games in 2023.
His consistent performances earned him a promotion to Hammarby’s first team in January, leading to his debut appearance in the Allsvenskan against Malmo FF.
Gyamfi entered the game in the 83rd minute, replacing Danish international Frederik Winther. Despite the defeat, Gyamfi’s inclusion in the match signals the beginning of what promises to be a promising career with Hammarby IF.
Prior to his move to Sweden, Gyamfi gained valuable experience during a loan spell at Ghana Premier League side Accra Great Olympics FC in 2022.
