Ghanaian defender Kwame Awuah has been named as Canada Premier League Player-Of-The-Week.
Awuah, who plays for Forge FC as a wingback has been making a name for himself in Canada and provided a masterclass performance in the games for his team against HFX Wanderers FC and Atletico Ottawa in the Premier League for his side in the ongoing campaign.
The 25-year-old provided an assist for HFX Wanderers in their entertaining game where they salvaged a point against HFX Wanderers FC.
In his second game against Atletico Ottawa, Awuah was very impressive in the match as his side brushed aside their opponents with a 4-0 win as his pinpoint cross led to Woobens Pacius’ opening goal.
He is the second Forge player to earn player of the week honours joining teammate Kyle Bekker, Cavalry FC’s David Norman Jr. and Daan Klomp, Valour FC’s Jonathan Sirois and Andrew Jean-Baptiste, and Ottawa’s Alberto Soto as past winners in the 2021 season.
