Ghanaian youth defender Najeeb Yakubu has been handed a new five-year deal by Ukrainian top-flight side FC Vorskla Poltava in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old right-back has been offered contract extension by the club until 2025.
The former Black Starlets star initially joined the club on a three-year deal as a free agent in 2018.
Since his arrival two years ago, Yakubu has played 27 matches for FC Vorskla Poltava, 22 which are league games.
Yakubu played only 13 league matches last season due to injuries. Since recovering fully from the injury room, he been instrumental in the make-shift role for FC Vorskla Poltava this season, featuring four games this season.
Yakubu’s FC Vorskla Poltava currently are occupying the second on the league standings with 10 points after four games.
