Ghanaian centre-back Samuel Owusu Afriyie has been drafted into the senior team of New York City FC.
Owusu, 22, was promoted to the senior side following his impressive outing with the second team in the MLS Pro League where he made 20 appearances.
He will play for the main side in the MLS for the 2023 season as they hope to stabilize their defense.
Owusu was born in Ghana but grew up in New York and has gone through the NYC FC Academy.
