Ghana’s international defender Roy Boateng scored his debut goal this season for New York Red Bulls Wednesday.
The stalwart defender was on cloud nine after registering his name on the scoresheet for the New York based club in their 5-1 win over Philadelphia Union II on the road.
“It is always a good feeling to get on the scoresheet as a player and the excitement is different when is your first of the season”, he said after the match.
The 24-year-old central – defender has featured in in all three games for The Red and Whites this campaign and was in a super form when he helped his team to secure their first win of the season in an emphatic style.
Boateng scored in the second half of the game to put his team back in front on the 53rd minutes mark.
The visitors built on their second goal scoring three more to record a comfortable win away from home.
