Ghanaian international winger, Latif Blessing and forward Kwadwo Opoku Mahala were at the losing side in the CONCACAF Champions League with Los Angeles FC against Mexican side Tigres.
The former Liberty Professionals man, Latif Blessing started and lasted the entire duration of the match as his side threw away a one goal lead to suffer a dramatic 2-1 defeat in the hands of Mexican club Tigres UANL.
The first half of the 2020 CONCACAF Champions League was goalless but a good game to watch as both teams played with attacking minds and created some decent chances in the opening 45 minutes of the match.
Kwadwo Opoku was introduced to the match at the beginning of the second half to replace Danny Musovski on the 46th minute mark.
Diego Rossi from Uruguay scored a minute past the hour mark with a beautiful lob over the goalkeeper to give the American club a deserving 1-0 lead on the 61st minute of the match.
Eleven minutes later, Tigres were level as LAFC failed to properly defend a corner kick which was headed in by Hugo Ayala Castro to make it 1-1 for the Yellow and Blue Tigers.
Six minutes from full time, French International, Andre Pierre Gignac scored the winner from the edge of the box with a cool right footed finish into the right bottom corner of the goal post following a pinpoint run and pass from Luis Quinones to make it 2-1 to the Mexican side.
The match ended 2-1 to Tigres who emerged as winners of the CONCACAF Champions League 2020 with a comeback win over their neighbors as the Ghanaian duo missed out on the chance to lift a continental silverware with their club.
