Ghanaian forward, Aaron Opoku has signed for Bundesliga 2 team SSV Jahn Regensburg on a season-long loan from Hamburg SV after SPORTSworldGhana.com exclusively reported earlier this week that he was set for another loan move.

The 21-year-old striker played last season on loan at Hansa Rostock in the Bundesliga 3.

Opoku played in Hamburger SV first match of the 2020-21 season at home to Fortuna Düsseldorf in a match which finished 2-1 to his team.

The Ghanaian will spend the remainder of the season at Jahn Regensburg in the Bundesliga 2 this campaign.

Opoku after signing the deal for SSV Jahn Regensburg, expressed his excitement as he looks forward to helping the Die Rothosen to excel this season.

“I had a very good feeling after the talks with those responsible for Jahn. That was the main reason why I decided to loan the Jahn. I would like to develop myself further here at SSV Jahn and in Regensburg, both athletically and personally. My goal is to arrive as quickly as possible in the next few days and weeks, to get used to the level and to help the team with my qualities in order to achieve the goals set,” he told the Club’s official website.

Sporting Director Christian Keller was impressed with the youngster’s capture.

“Aaron is flexible on the offensive and can play in both outer positions as well as in the center. With his speed, his good solutions in the moment of switching and his willingness to actively work against the ball, he also has many characteristics that match our game idea. All in all, good conditions for Aaron to take the next step in his development with us and for everyone involved to benefit from the loan.” says Christian Keller said on the same club’s forum.

His contract with Hamburger SV expires in June 2024.
