Ghanaian attacker, Asumah Abubakar-Ankrah scored his first goal of the season for FC Lugano in the Swiss Super League on Sunday afternoon against FC Basel at the St. Jakob-Park.
The Ghanaian, who played for Portugal at the youth level was featuring in his third game for his new employers and lasted 77 minutes before he was substituted.
The 23-year-old forward grabbed the game’s opening goal in the first half after 35 minutes with a brilliant finish from the right side of the box into the bottom right corner following an assist from Akos Kecskes to make it 1-0 to the visitors.
Six minutes to full, Arthur Cobral leveled for the home team but Christopher Lungoyi restored the away team’s lead three minutes later but Jasper Van Der Werff equalized to make it 2-2 on the 89th-minute mark.
The 23-year-old has a goal in three games for FC Lugano since his winter move from SC Kriens.
