Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil scored for his team KRC Genk in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League playoffs for a spot in next season’s UEFA Europa Conference League on Friday evening.
The Ghanaian international also provided an assist in his team’s 4-2 home victory over KV Mechelen to ensure that his team stay on course for an European spot.
Paintsil came on when the game was still 1-1 and provided an assist to Theo Bongonda to net the second goal for the hosts on the 80th minute.
Four minutes later, Rob Schoofs equalized for the visitors but Bongonda scored an unbelievable free-kick to restore his team’s one goal advantage.
Paintsil grabbed his goal in the 94th minute of the match to put the game to bed and secured a vital win for the Blue and Whites outfit.
