Ghanaian forward, Kamal Sowah was on target for Oud-Haverlee Leuven against KAA Gent on Saturday evening.
The 20-year-old Ghanaian prodigy extended his contract with his parent club Leicester City before this weekend and showed why the English team tied him down on a long term deal with a sizzling display against the Champions League side away at the GHELAMCO-arena.
Sowah exchanged passes with teammate Xavier Mercier from a shot corner to power home the game’s opening goal to put the visitors in front.
Three minutes after going in front, Thomas Henry brilliantly set up Mathieu Maertens who finished beautifully to make it 2-0 before the half time whistle.
On the 48th minutes, that is three minutes after the break Mercier again set up the Ghanaian to score his personal second and his team’s third on the night, making it a 3-0 scoreline with over 40 minutes to full time.
The host were rewarded a penalty in the 71st minutes which was converted by Niklas Dorsch before Tim Kleindienst also converted another penalty three minutes later to make the score 2-3 with 15 minutes to go.
The 20-year-old Ghanaian versatile attacker was withdrawn from the match right after the visitors conceded the second goal on the night.
Despite the frenetic ending to the match the newly promoted team held on to win the game 3-2 on the road.
