Derrick Arthur Köhn, a German-born defender of Ghanaian descent, embarked on a new chapter in his football career as he completed his first training session with Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig. The announcement came on Thursday, February 8, after Galatasaray secured a deal to acquire the talented defender from Hannover 96.

The unveiling of Köhn marked the beginning of an exciting journey for both the player and the club. Galatasaray revealed the intricate details of the transfer, showcasing their commitment to bringing Köhn onboard. According to the official statement released by the Turkish club, a transfer fee of 3,350,000 euros, along with a conditional bonus of 300,000 euros, was agreed upon with Hannover 96 GmbH&Co KGA.

In addition to the financial terms, Galatasaray outlined the duration of Köhn’s contract, which extends until the end of the 2025/2026 season, with an option to further extend it until 2027/2028. The contractual agreement also outlined the player’s earnings, with Köhn set to receive a net seasonal fee of 300,000 euros for the 2023/2024 season, followed by increases to 450,000 euros for the 2024/2025 season and 500,000 euros for the 2025/2026 season. Additionally, a one-time signing fee of 50,000 euros was included in the terms.

Eager to make his mark at Galatasaray, Köhn wasted no time integrating into his new surroundings. He swiftly joined his teammates on the training ground, showcasing his skills and determination to earn a spot in the starting eleven.
