Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is back in action after recovering from an injury he sustained during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Ashimeru was part of the Black Stars squad that represented Ghana in the last AFCON in Ivory Coast. Unfortunately, the tournament ended prematurely for Ghana, and Ashimeru picked up an injury.
Following the tournament, Ashimeru returned to his club, RSC Anderlecht, where he had to sit out games for the past two months due to his injury.
After weeks of rehabilitation, Ashimeru made his comeback today, playing for Anderlecht in a friendly match against Zulte Waregem. He performed well and looks ready to return to competitive football after the March international break.
Anderlecht’s next game is against Royal Antwerp on Saturday, March 30. Fans are hopeful that Ashimeru’s return will bolster the team’s midfield and contribute to their success in upcoming matches.
