Ghana midfielder Isaac Twum is full of joy after his side Mjøndalen IF survived relegation in Norway.
Mjøndalen IF finished the 2020 Norwegian Eliteserien at 14th of the 16-team league standings.
Mjøndalen needed to fight to maintain their elite league status in the relegation playoff and beat the drop with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Sogndal at Valerenga’s Intility Arena on Monday.
The Ghanaian international, however, missed the crunchy relegation decider due to a knee injury.
Reacting to his side’s relegation survival, Twum said:
“The way I’m very happy, words alone can’t express my excitement.”
“If you look at how we managed to retain our Eliteserien status, all I can say is thank you, Lord.”
“Still short of words, I’m very happy and look forward to the new season where I hope we can do much better.”
The former Inter Allies captain joined Mjøndalen from now relegated IK Start last September.
