Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo produced an outstanding display to guide Umm Salal SC to a commanding 5–2 away victory against Al Sadd SC in the Qatar Stars League.
The hosts took an early lead through Giovani, but Baidoo quickly influenced the contest with his creativity in midfield. In the 29th minute, he delivered a precise pass to set up Jean Kouassi for the equaliser, sparking a dominant spell for Umm Salal.
Momentum continued to build as Cristo González scored twice in quick succession, both moves originating from the visitors’ vibrant midfield play. Abdalaziz Al Hasia then added a fourth just before half-time to cap a devastating first-half performance.

After the break, Salem Al Hajri extended the advantage with a fifth goal on the hour mark, effectively sealing the win. Although Akram Afif converted a late penalty for Al Sadd, the result was already beyond doubt.
Baidoo’s influential performance highlighted his growing importance to Umm Salal SC, taking his tally to one goal and four assists in 10 league appearances this season.
Umm Salal will aim to continue their momentum when they face Qatar SC in their next league fixture on March 18.
