Ghanaian midfielder Prosper Kaku Donkor says he ‘feels excited’ after helping Rwandan Club Rayon Sports FC book qualification to 2018 CAF Confederation Cup knock-out stage.
The former Bechem United midfielder, lasted full duration for Rayon Sports FC on Wednesday when they beat Tanzanian side Young Africans Sports Club 1-0 to advance to the next phase of the competition.
The 19-year old poster boy was a delight to watch in midfield with his brilliant long balls distribution and accurate passes to give Rayon Sports a cutting edge over their Tanzanian counterparts.
Speaking to SportsworldGhana.com exclusively on Thursday, Donkor expressed his excitement after enjoying full throttle for the Rwandan club in his debut African campaign.
”The feeling was superb because the fans were massive at the stadium and the feeling was so high after the game, I felt so happy when I saw happiness on the faces of the fans” said Prosper Donkor.
He continued ”Moving forward, I am here to help the club achieve what they want and I believe we can go far since our aim is to go to the final and that is what we are fighting for. We have good players and I believe we can do it, we can make it happen,”
Donkor, who has previously featured for Dreams FC and Accra Young Wise joined Rayon Sports as a free agent in March 2018.
Rayon Sports amassed 9 points to reach the knock-out stage, two below USM Alger who topped the Group with 11 points.
Kenyan side Gor Mahia FC however, occupied the third position with 8 points.
Tanznian side Young Africans Sports Club, on the other hand, occupied the bottom with 4 points.
