Ghanaian midfielder, Stephen Danso was on target for Campeonato de Portugal side A.D. Sanjoanense in the Portuguese Cup on Wednesday evening.
The 22-year-old Ghanaian midfielder netted his first goal of the season for his team as they suffered a 2-1 away defeat at U.D Vilafranquense to exit the Portuguese version of FA Cup painfully.
Rodrigo Rodríguez opened the scoring in the first half after 27 minutes to put the hosts in the lead before the former Inter Milan graduate, Danso scored the equalizer for the visitors to draw them level after 31 minutes played.
Two minutes to the end of the end-to-end first half, Ruben Goncalves netted a beauty to restore the home team’s advantage before the interval.
The game ended 2-1 to Vilafranquense and Danso’s goal was not enough to keep his team in the Portuguese Cup.
