Meanwhile in the Bundesliga, Black Stars defender Kasim Nuhu continued his spell on the treatment board as he recovers from his ankle injury. He watched from the stands at the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar Arena as his Hoffenheim side suffered a 2-1 loss against Red Bull Leipzig.
Schalke 04 managed a slim 1-0 win over Mainz 05 at the Veltins Arena. There was no Baba Rahman in the Schalke side while Ghanaian youth striker Issah Abasscould not make the trip with the losers.
Hertha Berlin handed Bayern Munich their first defeat of the season after brushing them aside 2-0 at the Olympiastadion before 76,000 fans in Berlin. Dutch-born Ghana-pursuit Derrick Luckassen was not part of the Hertha squad for the game.
Stuttgart claimed a 2-1 win over Werder Bremen in a keenly contested game. Son of former Ghana defender Hans Adu Sarpie, Hans Sarpei Nunoo, warmed the bench for Stuttgart.
Austrian international of Ghana Kevin Danso warmed the Augsburg bench as the hammered Freiburg 4-1.
In the Bundesliga II, German-born Ghanaian Prince Owusu came off the bench in the 75th minute to play for Arminia Bielefeld when they lost 3-1 against FC Koln.
St Pauli managed to a squeeze a point from Hamburg as they held them to a 0-0 draw. German-born Ghanaian Chris Avevor played for St Pauli.

Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Mensahstarred for Partizani Tirana in their 1-0 win over KF Tirana in the Albanian top-flight league on Friday.

Seth Paintsil was in action in the Bundesliga as he played full time for Admira who lost 4-2 against visiting Altach on Saturday.

In the second-tier league, former WAFA defender Gideon Mensah came off the bench to play for Liefering when they suffered a 2-1 defeat against host BW Linz.
Paul Mensah played in attack and helped Kapfenberg to win 3-2 against Austria Lustenau.
In other games 21-year-old Ghanaian defender Joseph Asante Junior warmed the bench for A. Klagenfurt when they claimed a 2-1 win over Floridsdorfer AC.

Antwerp and Gent drew 2-2. Nana Akwasi Asare captained Gent while William Owusu played for Antwerp. Daniel Opare warmed the bench for the hosts.
KAS Eupen won 3-1 at Kortrijk in the top-flight league on Friday. Ghanaian Eric Ocansey was booked and played 70 minutes for the winners. Bennard Kumordzi remains suspended and missed the game. Ghana U20 goalkeeper Abdul Manaf Nurudeen could not make the Eupen squad for the game.
Both Joseph Aidoo and Joseph Paintsilplayed for Genk and helped them to a 4-0 thumping of Zulte-Waregem in the top-flight on Saturday.
10-man St Truiden held Anderlecht to a 0-0 draw. Samuel Asamoah played for Truiden while Francis Amuzu was in action for Anderlecht. Dennis Appiah was dropped to the bench while Dauda Mohammed missed the game with injury.

Ghanaian attacker Emmanuel Banahenescored brace for Al Ittihad in their 2-2 draw with Wadi Degla on Friday.
FRANCE
On Saturday in the Ligue 1, Abdul Majeed Waris was in action and helped Nantes to hold Olympique Lyon to a 1-1 draw at their own backyard. Young defender Enock Kwateng came off the bench in the dying embers for Nantes.
AC Ajaccio posted a 3-1 win over Valenciennes in the Ligue 2. Former Ghana U20 defender Emmanuel Ntimappeared on the Valenciennes bench.
FC Paris held Lens to a 0-0 draw on Friday. French-born Ghanaian Grejohn Kyei came off the Lens bench in the 69th minute to play for Lens.
Sochaux squeeze out a point from Nancy after holding them to a 0-0 draw. Ghana No.2 Lawrence Ati-Zigi warmed the bench for Sochaux. Olympique Lyon loanee Elisha Owusu was not part of the Sochaux squad for the game.
Metz slipped to a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Le Havre. Ghana defender John Boye was in action for 90 minutes for Metz but Ebenezer Assifuah sat on the bench for the winners.
In the National Ligue 1, former Ghana youth international Charles Boateng was booked in the 38th minute and played full time for Avranches and helped them to win 3-1 against Bourg-en-Bresse.

In the Premier League, former Inter Milan Primavera player Isaac Ntow Tuahimpressed in midfield for Hibernians when they posted a 2-0 win over St. Andrews.

There was no Eredivisie action for Cody Gakpo as he failed to make the PSV Eindhoven squad for their 2-0 away win over NAC Breda.

Injured Myron Boadu watched AZ Alkmaar’s 2-2 draw with Zwolle from the stands.

Both Emmanuel Okine and Sadat Karimplayed for Landskrona in their 4-3 home defeat to Frej.
Ghanaian midfielder Enock Kwakwacame off the bench to play for Falkenbergs who beat Brage 3-2 in the Superettan.
Isaac Telly Shaze played for Gefle in their 0-0 draw with Osters.
Thomas Boakye was introduced in the second-half by Halmstad BK in their 3-2 loss to Norrby.
Helsingborg and GAIS drew 1-1 and Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Abubakari played for Helsingborg.

Former Ghana Premier League midfielder Majeed Ashimeru played for St Gallen and helped them to beat Grasshoppers 2-1.

Kevin-Prince Boateng played 90 minutes for Sassuolo when they lost 3-1 against AC Milan. Youngster Claud Adjapongwarmed the bench for the hosts but Alfred Duncan was not in the Sassuolo team for the game.
Afriyie Acquah missed Empoli’s 1-0 loss at Parma with a tie injury.
Bologna won 2-1 against Udinese. Ghanaian defender Nicholas Opokuwarmed the Udinese bench. Both Godfred Donsah and Emmanuel Agyeman Badu missed the game with injuries.
Yussif Raman Chibsah was in midfield for Frosinone as they allowed Genoa to defeat them 2-1.
Inter Milan continued their impressive run with a 2-0 win over Cagliari at the Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday. Ghana international Kwadwo Asamoah was rested for the mid-week Champions League game as he warmed the bench for the entire period.
Elsewhere in the Serie B, Ghanaian midfielder Moses Odjer impressed in midfield for Salernitana when they beat Verona 2-1.
Former Torino starlet Emmanuel Gyasiplayed 89 minutes for Spezia and helped them to win 2-1 against Carpi.
Former Ghana U20 defender Bright Addae came off the bench to play for Ascoli in their 0-0 draw with Cremonese on Saturday.
Bright Gyamfi was a bench warmer for Benevento when they suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Foggia.
In the third-tier league, Shaka Mawuli Eklu warmed the bench for Catanzaro when they lost 2-1 to Casertana.
Inter Milan loanee Stephen Danso was on the Rimini bench for their 1-1 draw with Vicenza Virtus.

Striker Inaki Williams Dannis missed a flurry of chances as he starred for Athletic Bilbao in their 1-1 draw with Barcelona at the Camp Nou. He lasted 79 minutes.
Midfielder Thomas Partey was introduced by Atletico Madrid in the second-half as a replacement for Diego Costa when they shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw with Real Madrid.
Levante posted a 2-1 win over Deportivo Alaves. Ghana attacker Emmanuel Boateng played for Levante but Raphael Dwamena was left of their squad once again. Wakaso Mubarak was dropped to the Alaves bench while Patrick Twumasicouldn’t make the squad due to injury.
In the Segunda Division, Isaac Cofieplayed in holding midfield for Sporting Gijon as they claimed a 1-0 win over Las Palmas.
Real Mallorca held Lugo to a 1-1 draw and Ghanaian Iddrisu Baba came off the bench to play for Mallorca.
Alcorcon posted a 2-0 win over Real Oviedo. Ghanaian midfielder Richard Boateng was dropped to the bench.
Yaw Yeboah played Numancia in their 0-0 draw with Osasuna.
CROATIA
Former Inter Milan Primavera attacker and also of Genoa, Said Ahmed Said, was introduced to play the last 4 minutes for Hajduk Split in their 0-0 draw with Dinamo Zagreb.
Rijeka and Slaven Belupo drew 0-0 on Sunday. Ghanaian Maxwell Acosty came off the bench to play for Rijeka.
Nasiru Moro was unused by Gorica in their 3-0 home loss against Lok. Zagreb.
DENMARK
Midtjylland trounced Hobro 5-2. Ghanaian youngster Collins Tanor came off the Hobro bench to play but Yaw Amankwaah missed the game with injury.
Emmanuel Oti was not part of the Esbjerg side that drew 0-0 with Aarhus.
FINLAND
HJK and Honka drew 0-0. Midfielder Anthony Annan came off the bench to play for HJK but his Ghanaian compatriot Evans Mensah could not make the HJK squad for the game.
KuPS won 3-0 at VPS on Saturday and Ghanaian Reuben Ayarna was in action for the winners.
MEXICO
Ghanaian midfielder Clifford Aboagyeclimbed off the bench to play for Atlas when they won 2-0 against Toluca.
PORTUGAL
There was no Lumor Agbenyenu in the Sporting side that beat Maritimo 2-0.
Alhassan Wakaso flourished in midfield for Vitoria Guimaraes as they drew 1-1 with Setubal. Defender Henry Mendariousmissed the game with injury.
SCOTLAND
Ghana winger Thomas Agyepong played 84 minutes to help Hibernian beat St Mirren 1-0.
Danny Amankwaa was introduced in the second-half by Hearts in their 2-1 win over St Johnstone.

Striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom was rested by Red Star Belgrade for their 2-1 win over Mladost in the top-flight on Saturday. Defender Rashid Sumailacould not make the squad for the game.
Cukaricki managed to squeeze a 1-1 draw at Napredak. Ghanaian Samuel Owusu played for Cukaricki.
Attacker Samuel Afum broke into the Spartak Subotica team but warmed the bench as they lost 1-0 against Vojvodina.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Dutch-born Ghanaian Johan Kappelhofwas in action for Chicago Fire as they beat Los Angeles FC 3-1. There was no Latif Blessing in the LA team.
Bismark Adjei-Boateng started the game for Colorado Rapids but he was changed in the second-half as they lost heavily (4-0) against Seattle Sounders.
Injured Francis Atuahene watched FC Dallas’ 0-0 draw with Portland Timbers from the screens.
Ema Boateng played along Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack for LA Galaxy who beat Vancouver Whitecaps 3-0.
Former Inter Allies player Dominic Odurowarmed the bench for San Jose Earthquakes when they lost 3-2 against Houston Dynamo.
Both Kwame Awuah and Ebenezer Oforiwere in the New York City FC side that lost 2-1 against Minnesota United. Injured Abu Danladi watched from the bench.
Columbus Crew and Philadelphia Union played a 0-0 stalemate. Ghanaian trio of Jonathan Mensah, Harrison Afful and Lalas Abubakar all started for Crew along with American-Ghanaian Gyasi Zardes. Also starting for Union was Charles Sapong but David Accam was unused.
