Ghanaian striker Akwasi Asante scored the only goal of the game for Chesterfield against Maidenhead in the English national league on Saturday.
After a tensed first half, substitute Asante gave the “Spireites” the lead in the 76th minute when he struck the ball just inside the box on the left-hand side, beating goalkeeper Ashmore at his near post.
Asante has now netted six goals in sixteen games since returning from injury in January and he is gradually getting to his best.
Chesterfield are second on the league log with 66 points from 34 games.
