On-loan midfielder Forson Amankwah was in top form in his first start for Austrian second-tier side FC Liefering on Friday evening in their 3-0 league win against Kapfenberger.
Amankwah was named in the starting XI for the first time since making his debut on 10 April against Lafnitz when he replaced Daouda Guindo in the 89th minute.
The former WAFA winger, grabbed that opportunity and was a delight to watch throughout the game with some thrilling and thunderous moves.
He expertly walked through three Kapfenberger players before sending a pass to captain Alex Prass to score the match’s opener in the 27th minute.
Amankwah against assisted Sesko to score the second goal after 72 minutes on the clock.
He lasted the full 90 minutes of the match, making four key passes, 12 duels won, and 50 touches.
”I’m especially happy for Forson, who was in the starting XI for the first time and did a very good job,” FC Liefering coach Matthias Jaissle said in a post-match interview.
The Red Bull Salzburg-owned player has a total of four appearances in the 2.Liga.
