Ghana forward Raymond Gyasi was on target for Stabaek as they thrashed Aalesund FK 3-0 in the Norwegian NM Cup Round 16 clash on Thursday.
The former Ghana U-23 winger who lasted full 90 minutes was outstanding in the crucial clash as he helped his side register superiority over his senior brother Edwin Gyasi’s Aalesund FK with a qualification to quarter finals.
The game which featured the two brothers saw Edwin Gyasi and Raymond operating from the left side and right side of attack for their respective clubs.
Antoni Ordinas’s side stated the game on brilliant note,piling more pressure on Aalesund in their quest to score first.
Their classic effort paid off finally on the 20th mark when Raymond Gyasi broke the deadlock in the first half.
Stabeak took total control of the game with a stunning display to the delight of their vociferous fans who thronged the Nadderud Stadion.
Belgian youth international Tortol Lumanza Lembi doubled the host lead four minutes before break when his shot beat Goalkeeper Andreas Lie to hit the back of the net.
Back from recess, Danish midfielder Tonny Brochmann netted his first and Stabaek’s third goal on the 47th minute to seal victory over Aalesund FK.
