Ghanaian forward, Soloman Asante was at his best in the USL Championship playoffs for Phoenix Rising Stars on Saturday afternoon against Sacramento Republic FC.
The frenetic encounter could not produce a goal in the first half despite both teams creating good goal scoring opportunities.
After the break, Phoenix Rising Stars upped their game and looked more purposeful going forward but still failed to capitalise on their dominance.
The regular 90 minutes ended goalless and the match headed into extra time.
One minute to the end of the first half of the extra time, Asante popped up in the box with an improvisation header from close range to break the deadlock of the match and put his team in front.
The second half of the extra time did not produce a goal again in the game and the Red and Blacks marched on to the quarter-final of the USL Championship and will face Reno FC.
The Ghana international has seven goals and nine assists in the USL Championship this term.
