Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Ernest Poku pulled an assist in AZ Alkmaar win against Torino in a preseason friendly over the weekend.
The 17-year-old has hit been impressive form in the ongoing pre-season for the Eredivise side ahead of the new season.
The promising attacker was included in the senior squad for pre-season and has impressed the technical handlers with his qualities.
Marko Pjaca scored in the opening minute for Torino, but they were later beaten 2-1 by AZ Alkmaar.
The Granata had the perfect start in the Netherlands, with Wilfried Singo winning back possession and putting a long ball to send Pjaca sprinting clear to score.
AZ after regaining their form in the game fought back immediately with several chances before Jesper Karlsson beat Etrit Berisha from the edge of the box.
Albert Gudmundsson was then close to 2-1 but saw his bet explode on the post.
Ernest Poku was introduced into the game in the second half and quickly made an impact by assisting summer signing Vangelis Pavlidis to score the winning goal.
Manager Pascal Jansen is happy with the teenager’s development and could hand him the chance at topflight football next season.
Poku made his U-23 debut last season but he is expected to play a role at Jong AZ next year.
